Lieutenant Colonel Gary Price is currently serving as the Military Deputy to the U.S. Army DEVCOM Ground Vehicle Systems Center (GVSC) Director. He is responsible for top level strategic planning and analysis while ensuring over 1800 Department of the Army civilians, assigned military personnel, industry and academia partners are synchronized to support the Chief of Staff of the Army (CSA) priorities and the Army S&T objectives.

Lt. Col. Price was commissioned as a Quartermaster officer, branch detailed to the Armor Corps, upon graduation from West Virginia State University in 2002. He completed the Armor Officer Basic Course followed by assignments as platoon leader and executive officer, C-Company, 3rd Battalion, 69th Armor Regiment, Fort Stewart, Ga. He then attended the Logistics Captain’s Career Course before transitioning to the Acquisition Corps in 2011.
Lt. Col. Price’s assignments include: Operational Test Officer, Assistant Product Manager at IPPS-A, and Department of the Army Systems Coordinator (DASC). Prior to assuming the responsibilities as GVSC’s Military Deputy, he was GVSC’s Director of Experimental Prototyping Portfolio, supporting the Army Operating Concept with a specific focus on Next Generation Combat Vehicles. This includes the Mission Enabling Technologies Demonstrator (MET-D) and Robotic Combat Vehicle (RCV).
Lieutenant Colonel Price holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Marshall University and a Bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts from West Virginia State University. He is Level III DAWIA certified in Program Management. His military education and training includes: Officer Basic Course, Captain’s Career Course, Command and General Staff College Intermediate Level Education course (ILE), and Army Acquisition Basic Course. His medals and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal with oak leaf cluster, Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medial with bronze star device, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terror Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terror Service Medal, Combat Action Badge, and Army Staff Identification Bade.
